Advanced Skin Peels Training
Prerequisite – SHBBINF001 – Maintain infection control standards, Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy, or Diploma in Beauty Therapy, Doctor, Nurse.
Our Chemical Peels Course is specifically designed for clinicians wanting to refresh, or enhance their knowledge and practical skills to perform Advanced Peels; or for clinicians seeking to introduce this results-driven treatment to their business services.
Chemical peeling consists of the application on the skin of exfoliating agents to remove a predictable uniform thickness of damaged skin. Wound healing and skin rejuvenation follow, resulting in the reduction of conditions such as fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, sun damage, scarring and acne.
The course includes the comprehensive theoretical knowledge of the treatment and clinical hands-on training. Practically, you will perform a number of superficial and medium professional strength chemical peels. During the application, you will recognise the differing actions of how the exfoliating agents respond with the skin.
Upon successful course completion, you will pose the qualities to safely and confidently select and apply the appropriate skin peel for a client, within your own clinical or practice setting.

A chemical peel involves the application of chemical solutions to the skin in a controlled way, thus producing controlled tissue death. The chosen penetration of the wound is reliant on the condition in which you are treating. After the peel, the skin regenerates as the injured skin renews itself through the growth of new cells.
Chemical peels are a popular skin rejuvenation treatment and are very successful at rejuvenating the skins surface. By including this treatment in your practice you are able to offer clients a larger range of skin rejuvenation treatments. This course is designed to give you the foundation skills and underpinning theoretical knowledge that is required to implement chemical peels into your practice.
You will learn
- The difference between peels
- Understand differing skin conditions, why treat and how to treat
- Successful treatment for skin rejuvenation, acne, pigmentation.
- Wound healing and home care
- Adverse reactions and how to correct
- How to implement chemical peels successfully into your practice
Hands-On Training - 1Day
The practical training will cover important theory information and focus mainly on the hands-on approach of the procedure where you will have the opportunity to treat your own patient. This includes treatment consultation and planning, choosing the appropriate product tailored to your patient, taking clinical photos and much more. This is carried out in your clinic, where health and safety standards are met according to local regulatory guidelines.
